Folkus Fans!
THIS FRIDAY, DEC 17 AT MAY MEMORIAL, 3800 East Genesee
TWO CONCERTS IN ONE!
A double bill of NYC musicians will light up a dark December night:
TEDDY GOLDSTEIN & ANNE HEATON
To save yourself a seat, call 315-440-1818 or email <tickets at folkus.org>
About TEDDY GOLDSTEIN: Teddy Goldstein is known as much for his clever songs
- both sensitive and comedic - as for his energetic and unpredictable shows.
A master of both songwriting and theatrical timing, he keeps his
performances fresh with hysterical ad-lib lyrics and improvised musical
solos within the tight structure of his well-crafted songs. Teddy is a
two-time finalist in The Telluride Bluegrass Festival's National Troubadour
Songwriting Competition and recent finalist in The USA Songwriting
Competition.
³Goldstein is simply the funniest act I've seen in years. The Jack Benny
of Folk-song timing.² --Daniel Gewertz, The Boston Herald
Remember when Teddy opened for Vance Gilbert at May? You laughed
yourself silly, didn¹t you? Come on out and let¹s dare Teddy to amuse us
again. Help me make sure he plays some harmonica for us!
About ANNE HEATON: Anne Heaton has been lauded by The Boston Globe as
³easily [one] of the area¹s most notable female singer-songwriters.²
"Sweetly nostalgic without being overly sentimental and powerful without
being melodramatic² (decontrol.com), Heaton's songs are catchy, with soaring
melodies boasting great emotional pull and smart lyrics. Performing
Songwriter Magazine describes Heaton¹s music as ³alternately lush, sweet,
funny and sorrowful. Heaton sings and plays keyboards, and will be joined by
longtime musical partner Frank Marotta Jr. on vocals plus acoustic and
electric guitars.
VOLUNTEER TO HELP MAINTAIN FOLKUS
We're always always looking for more folks to lend a hand. We¹re looking
for folks to help with keeping in touch with the local press. Are you good
at getting those holiday letters out? How about helping Folkus keep in
touch with the Fans? Someone out there can certainly make these Folkus Fan
mailings more amusing than I! And at the shows, we figure the more the
merrier helping set up before and clean up afterward. Together we make it
all happen! Email our volunteer Volunteer Coordinator at
<volunteer at folkus.org>.
More info always at our web site, <http://folkus.org>.
Thank you for supporting live, acoustic music in Syracuse!
