Folkus Fans!

There are two Folkus concerts this weekend:

This Friday, December 7, at 8 o'clock, KAREN SAVOCA -- with special  
guest Robert Hazard -- perform at May Memorial.

This Saturday, December 8 at 8 o'clock, DAN DUGGAN & PEGGY LYNN  
perform at the Westcott Community Center.

About Karen Savoca:
The music of Karen Savoca and Pete Heitzman confounds even the  
staunchest pigeonholers. It's bravely nontraditional, yet completely  
accessible. The duo's live performances are uplifting and hypnotic,  
and they like to put some funk in the folk. From simple ballads built  
with subtle piano and guitar to complex textures of layered vocals  
and innovative guitar work, this is contemporary music at its best.  
Electrifying and unique, these improvisational performers possess the  
fearlessness of a high wire act working without a net.

About Dan Duggan & Peggy Lynn:
The remarkable duo of Dan Duggan and Peggy Lynn combines original and  
traditional songs with masterful harmonies and inventive  
arrangements. On stage they have a chemistry rarely seen in  
traditional music circles, matching instrumental virtuosity with the  
warm intimacy of their voices.  And they'll be performing a special  
holiday-tinged show.  But wait! There's more: Joining the dulcimer  
wizard and passionate singer will be Henry Jankiewicz on fiddle and  
Tom Hodgson on guitar.  This foursome gave a great Folkus show a  
couple years ago -- we're thrilled that we've been able to get them  
to do it again!
