Sponsored by the Folkus Project, the Words and Music Songwriter
Showcase series features established and emerging artists of all
genres in an up-close-and-personal acoustic setting. It is hosted by
Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers, a singer-songwriter, author (Rock
Troubadours), NPR contributor (All Things Considered), and founding
editor of Acoustic Guitar magazine. Says Jeff, "This series is all
about celebrating and building the music community."
Each monthly show includes:
* A featured artist performing a full set, plus four songwriters
in the round.
* The Song Schmooze, where musicians and music lovers mingle
over a drink and a bite to eat.
* Plus special guests...surprise collaborations...and the
Soundbite of the Night, where Rodgers shares a memorable moment from
his extraordinary archive of interviews with artists such as Joni
Mitchell, Paul Simon, Jerry Garcia, Ani DiFranco, and Dave Matthews.
Appearing on January 25 are:
Lisa Gentile, who recently returned to her native Syracuse from New
York City, is an urban cowgirl with soul and a SAMMY award winner for
best country recording. www.myspace.com/lisagsings
Timothy Daniel has taken a scalpel to the human heart, and he has
traveled the globe singing about what makes it tick. His wildly
melodic and imaginative songs are whimsical conversations of love,
self doubt, and purpose. www.timothydaniel.com
Dusty Pas'cal is a singer-songwriter. He's a poet, he's a picker,
he's a prophet and he's a pusher, he's a pilgrim and a preacher and a
problem when he's stoned, he's a walkin' contradiction, partly truth
and partly fiction, taken every wrong direction on his lonely way
back home. www.myspace.com/dustinpascal
Leo Crandall is a songwriter, guitarist, and cellist with the blues-
rock band the Gonstermachers. www.gonstermachers.com
We hope to see you there!
This is the music we love! This is who we are!
