Enjoy an evening of "easy grass"

Central New York’s Easy Ramblers are a favorite regional acoustic act, performing music that is not pure folk or traditional bluegrass. You might call it “easy grass.” Audiences appreciate the craftsmanship, clever compositions, simplicity and special chemistry of these creative musicians.

Performances feature their originals as well as covers from Gillian Welch, Allison Kraus, Hot Rize, Peter Rowan, and the Infamous String Dusters. The music is old and new fun at the same time, layered with Maureen Henesey’s soaring vocal capabilities. In addition to Maureen, the band includes Mark Allnatt (banjo), Scott Ebner (background vocals, guitar, mandolin, accordion), Dann Mather (background vocals, bass), and Eddie Zacholl (lead and background vocals, guitar). There may also be a few surprise friends joining them.

The Easy Ramblers perform at venues such as the Westcott Theater, Bill Knowlton’s Bluegrass Ramble Picnic, the Homemade Jam and the Sterling Stage Folk Fest -- and Folkus. Their debut recording, Easy Does It, won a 2011 Syracuse Area Music Award (SAMMY) in the "Best Country" category. Several other recordings have garnered SAMMY nominations.

“Helmed by the soothing voice of Maureen Henesey, this acoustic band plays hearty, feel-good music. It's warm in its traditional roots, but it's cozy and immediate and ever so relatable in that it feels like home; like a slice of modern-day small town Central New York.” -- Syracuse New Times
